Downeast Institute: A photo story
On August 11th, the Downeast Institute hosted friends, family, supporters, and industry guests to their home on Great Wass Island, just south of Beals Island and Jonesport, Maine. The new $6.6 million dollar addition includes a residence hall with plenty of space for students and researchers, a full commercial kitchen, upgrades to the primary research facility, and a major expansion of wet research and laboratory space. The increase in capacity positions Downeast Institute to be a leader in education & research, the advancement of Maine's shellfish aquaculture industry, and the preservation of wild shellfish populations
